Connie Reid
Coach Connie is a black belt under Professor Ron Jacobs, and the first female black belt in the Butch Hiles Association. Her passion for Jiu Jitsu began in 2017. Her journey started when her daughter enrolled at a small gym in Central Virginia, sparking a family affair with the sport. Today, Connie and her two children train regularly, honing their skills and competing and cross training up and down the East Coast.
With a diverse array of knowledge and experience, Connie brings a unique perspective to the mats. While she enjoys the thrill of competition, her true motivation lies in sharing her love for Jiu Jitsu through coaching. As the only female black belt instructor in the area, she is committed to building a strong presence for women in the sport, providing support and encouragement to female practitioners of all levels.
In addition to her Adult Fundamental classes, Connie leads the Kid's Program, fostering a positive and inclusive environment for young athletes. Her dedication to teaching and empowering her students makes her an invaluable member of the coaching team. With Coach Connie leading a class, students can expect to grow not just in their technical skills but also in confidence and camaraderie on the mat.
